Yeah I don't think you should feel any guilt over what your character's doing/feeling. It's not like you, the player, are mad at the other player in the thread. Keep the IC/OOC divide in mind and it should be just fine!

And honestly in the past I've found hang-ups to be a fun way to start CR. Like... if Takasugi ever got hung up on, it'd piss him off and make him seek that character out. Like "OH BITCH, NO YOU DIDN'T, COME HERE, I'M NOT DONE WITH YOU." So just keep giving things a try and see what sticks to what characters; you can't really predict what other people are going to do with what you give them.
