— MONTHLY MOD ANNOUNCEMENT: JULY —

Hello, everyone! We hope that you all enjoyed the trip to Peromei’s lands at the end of June, as well as the chance to uncover some more of Empatheias’ lore. This month will be quiet to start with in order to allow people to recover from the excursion and handle any fallout, as well as to go about any other business they may have, but with the end of July comes Helisium! Applications for helper mods have also been closed, with further information provided below. Please take a few moments to read this post thoroughly!

» JOBS & TASK BOARD

The Task Board has been updated so characters can start taking on odd jobs if they are so inclined. Details as to how the Task Board works and sign-up (if applicable) can be found on the said post, as well.

In addition, there is a Job List sheet that lists out more permanent jobs available for characters. The link to the job list can be found here. These are different from the Task Board jobs as they can be used as part-time or full-time jobs and do not have any specific time period. If you want your character to have a job, that's it. This is also where we will list character run businesses. So if you have one or are thinking about one, there will be a place where it can be referenced and looked at. You can even make tasks relating to your business.

The location of each task is determined by the colors they're labeled with. So, White = Verens; Yellow = Shaarnath; Pink = Theasthai; Blue/Grey = Briarlan; Purple = Excursions; Red = Plot.

Note: We always welcome and encourage players to submit various tasks for the Task Board! However, in the interest of fairness and making sure that player-submitted tasks can be integrated into the Board in a timely manner, we ask that if you would like your task to be included that it be submitted no later than five days prior to the start of the coming month. Otherwise, it will be included the following month. Thank you!

» EMOTION TRACKER UPDATE

The Emotion Tracker has been updated with a new set of sheets for July through December. If you forgot any threads from last month, you can still submit to the tracker and just have it count toward this month. This includes any events that occurred.

Anyone who is interested in the fancy breakdown of points can find it here—but don't worry too much about it if numbers aren't your thing.

We find ourselves leaning towards the positive side of things as June comes to a close, and while many of the Arehtei are fairly well-balanced, there are a few exceptions. Aiada, Elios and Piphron are all trending positive, though not enough to be considered alarming. Peromei is a little heavy on despair heading into July, which only makes sense considering the excursion to Brinndosi. For the time being, things are going swimmingly!

» MYSTERY GIFTS FOR JUNE

Players who submitted to the Emotion Tracker last month are invited to choose an IC Mystery Gift from the list below for each contributing character! Late submissions to the Emotion Tracker (ie. July 1 submissions for June ET) do not count. Below is a top-level where you can let the mods know what item you've chosen. These Mystery Gifts will appear at the foot of the character's bed once they wake on the day of your choice. If the character doesn't sleep, it will be at their doorstep.

Here are the Mystery Gifts for June:

A set of clothes owned by the character that they don't have in Empatheias.
A handheld magic mirror that reflects one's desires.
Glow in the dark toothpaste.
A clunky computer that is only powered by excitement, and can only run pinball and paint. It has a distinctive steampunk aesthetic (read: covered in gears).
Roller skates!
A magical plant that grows different kinds of berries each day.

» STATE OF THE AREHTEI

Appointments can still be made with individual Arehtei here, complete with updated player list. Here’s a glimpse of where each of the Arehtei are at right now:

Aiada - Aiada is very excited for Helisium! She's going to be watching attentively, but will be taking a long, relaxing nap before that happens because she wants to make sure that she's fully alert to take in all the sights. Before that, she'll only be answering to telepathic calls.
Daimonia - Daimonia has plenty of energy as usual, but thanks to a bit of extra grief — possibly coming from the excursion to Peromei's lands...? — she's actually feeling pretty chill overall at the moment. Mindful of her siblings as always, she is grateful for the help that the Otherworlders have given to her sister, and although summertime tends to be busy down in Theasthai, Daimonia would welcome visits.
Elios - Elios is back to normal! It seems he's left the mountain in Diateris, but he's likely just flying around and exploring places by himself. In any case, if he ever finds anything of interest, he will inform his fellow Arehtei and the community at large.
Peromei - Although her mood has taken a bit of a hit, probably thanks to the visit to the surface, Peromei will continue trucking along now that she's no longer bothered by an impending sense of doom. She'll be spending more time on the island and inside the Tree of Memories than past months, having run a lot of her energy out in Tria. Visitors may have to wake her up when they get there...
Piphron - Piphron is almost buoyant this month with the small influx of positivity. Or what passes as buoyant for him. He has mellowed with age and can be described as only slightly cantankerous instead of very. Though he still doesn't seek out anyone of his own accord, those who wish to speak with him may find him excessively long-winded as he expresses far too many opinions on far too many things. He might even leave his mountain.
Sosyne - Sosyne continues to lead a quiet relaxed balanced life in Lake Niras. With all this time spent soaking, one might start wondering if Arehtei can prune, but she's content to continue hanging around for the time being. She'll continue to receive any visitors as she has for the last few months as well, nothing's really changed on that front.
Thras - Thras is currently feeling very even-keeled, though he continues to be a bit more stoic than usual as he remains concerned about recent developments in Shaarnath. Regardless, incidents of vandalism seem to have decreased during the past couple of weeks, and Thras will be very glad to receive any visitors— as a matter of fact, he may welcome the distraction.

» HELISIUM

The month of Tessa means the festival of Helisium, which will take place ICly on the 28th. However, in order to give players plenty of time to enjoy the festival, the log itself will be posted on July 22nd. Helisium will not only include the annual beach party and masquerade, but will also feature a few new activities this year! More information concerning the festival itself will be made available closer to the event.

» HELPER MOD UPDATE

After half a month of searching for a new prompt moderator, we would like to announce that we now have a new member joining our team: Bayley! She plays Ruby Rose (RWBY) and Prompto Argentum (Final Fantasy XV), and will now be helping us out in writing prompts for monthly intro logs, task boards and test drive memes.

We would also like to thank Jes, player of Pyrrha Nikos (RWBY), for all the help she's given us during her months as a prompt moderator! We appreciate all the hard work that she has put in during her time as a member of the helper mod team.
