Welcome to Empatheias' plotting and CR meme! Please fill out the form below with all of the necessary information. Then go forth and reply to others, plot, make friends, have shenanigans!

The Plot and CR meme will be posted on the first of each month, and will be posted once the intro posts have been posted, and again during the mid-month announcement. We highly encourage everyone to check the post from time to time, even if a week has passed. You never know what kind of opportunities you could be missing!

• For more general plotting and to talk about CR you wish to build, create your own top level following the format below. Put your character's name in the subject line, or your name in the subject line if you have more than one character.

• Fill out the form and comment away! The top level relating to the task board has a different form, catered specifically to task board related things, as well.

• Tip! If mentioning tasks, include both the task ID and a brief two-word blurb to easily identify (eg., ST0602 Giant Fish).

Character Name: Sherlock Holmes
Canon: Dai Gyakuten Saiban
Brief Personality: MANCHILD- I mean... Eccentric and whimsical. He's a bit of an emotional seesaw, as he can get both easily excited and easily bummed out. Loves to talk about himself, because he's The Great Sherlock Holmes. Inventor, chemist, musician, scatterbrained... He does genuinely do smart things sometimes.
Appearance: Traditional Sherlock Holmes attire mixed with Steampunk, so basically this. (And yes, he's still carrying vials of chemicals around in a pouch, plus the pistol.)

Slice of Life or ADVENTURE: Both. Sherlock gets involved in shenanigans and hijinks no matter how serious the situation is. That's just how he rolls. While Sherlock would personally prefer a nice mystery or puzzle to work with, every-day life can be interesting too.
Current Activities/Developments:
> He was in search of a dance teacher because he feels his assistant, Naruhodou, isn't quite as 'in sync' with him as he could be. He's already scored some ballroom dancing classes, but there's always room for more.
> I've signed him up for an assortment of odd jobs through the task board, which includes (but is not limited to) pulling other people's pants down and ritualistic midnight dancing.
Future Developments: Not much planned, tbh. He might keep on inventing some more things, because he's been messing around with magitechnology and the effects emotions can have, etc. etc. For example, he tweaked a bicycle to run on magitechnology and also he invented a pair of goggles that shows an aura of a certain color around a person depending on their emotional state.
Shipping/Romance: Heeehahaha. I mean, I'm open for anything but who would want this manchild?

Seeking: Buddies! Fellow detectives, fans, people who call him out on his bullshit, people who troll him... (It's so easy to troll this guy.)
Offering: Embarrassing father figure, will pun for money.

I'm unfortunately not familiar with his specific canon, but Capcom and honestly that he's carrying around vials of chemicals, Jill would definitely ask about that. Probably with very little tact... and very directly...

She might be able to hit your willing to call him on bullshit want, but it would depend on how/if they got along and how they related. She typically does have tact, but if they get friendly she can be pretty (overtly) direct with people!

The canon itself is unfortunately very elusive because there's no official English translations. Fansubs and Japanese spoiler blogs are our only hope, weep.

But YES, that sounds cool! I can't wait! Some of the chemicals he's got on him are harmless and some of them are, uh, explosive, which he would admit with no issue whatsoever. Needless to say, there's a lot of things to call him out on, tact or no tact.

I've extensive experience with ISOs and wanting to die when they're sketchy and lame, there is a saga we whisper about sometimes, late at night. The story of Namco vs Capcom must be banished...

It's more that she'd assume it might be a viral agent, actually! So knowing that would actually relieve her -- she's an explosives expert (creation, usage, and diffusion) so she's just think he's cool... I guess she might end up encouraging him. :')

Enabling him is also great, really! He'd love to develop explosive stuff for/with her. For uh... for science. I mean, he usually develops stuff for the sake of forensics, but if there's anything chemistry is, it's dangerous in the wrong hands and full of potential for all sorts of things.

It was totally worth it (maybe).

Of course it's for science! I did forget to mention in her application that she does canonically make her own ammo (including grenade rounds) so it's a possible thing they could either eventually get to or perhaps adapt for other weapons or defensive items... But that kind of statement will easily get on her really good side since bioterrorism is a product of just that. It's not something she expects to have to combat here, but having someone with experience in a similar feel and similar feelings will make her feel a little warm 'n toasty inside.

Ohoh, in that case, funfact! Sherlock's pistol is in fact not quite a pistol. It's actually a tool for firing certain chemicals. For example, in one scene he uses it to pump a gas into the air which reveals handprints. In a very technical sense he could use it to pump all sorts of gasses into the air, harmless or not-so-harmless.

LET'S DEVELOP QUESTIONABLE WEAPON-SHAPED THINGS.

That is incredibly cool. Jill may or may not (she did) come with a plethora of weapons, including grenades and a rocket launcher so she'd definitely let him take a look-see -- but the tech isn't too far off from say, a flamethrower or grenade launcher acid, freeze, or lightning rounds. Although she's not the most technological of her group (one would be surprised that it's the giant dude bestie), she does know enough to modify her gear and do so for others so

OOOH MY GOSH...!!! Yes! I mean, something like a flamethrower is entirely dangerous in his hands but that's what makes it fun. Show him what you've got, Jill!

We need to arrange for a way for these two to meet. Do you have any posts coming up in the near future I could throw him at?

That moment when you have to ask the mods about replicating rocket launchers for no reason. Nope, not even going to do anything cool with it.

I actually just posted an open log! My net's been spotty as heck (I was 100% online when I last replied to you then my internet just laughed at me so I did some housework and passed out), but I'm hoping the lack of crazy storms will make it a little less turdie.

If nothing works for you, lmk I have no problem writing individual starters (and often prefer them because I hate the nature of open posts vs specific ones) or you have something specific, just slam it down on me.

Who knows? Someday, they might have a reason for a grenade launcher to exist after all! Like embedding the grenade with certain emotions and then shooting it towards an Arehtei! In no way could that go wrong!

Sliding in late but I would love to play with Sherlock! I've got a deadpan, snarky teen here who wouldn't hesitate on calling him out on his bullshit if he sees it.

I'm wide open this month, so I can go wherever! I did throw up an open post a couple days ago and I can toss Rei into pretty much any task, so whatever works for you works for me, heh.

I've found the post! Let's see, I was thinking either option A (marketplace) or we can wildcard it up. I signed Sherlock up for a bunch of tasks, which includes singing to tree spirits, midnight ritualistic dancing and mooning people, so there should be enough to work with!

Oh awesome! Hmm, those are some excellent choices all around and defs some fun things to work with. I'm pretty easy! Task-wise the dancing one is one Rei'd probably get involved with one way or another out of all of those, orrr we could go with the marketplace option and have adventures in finding potentially not terrible gifts.
