Event Overview: Power Play

— POWER PLAY: OVERVIEW & PLOTTING —

The weeks following Thras’ death have been chaotic in Shaarnath, and for the first time, native citizens are finding it easier to trust those from outside the city than their own. With Thras’ own insistence that Otherworlders be trusted and that their presence is the key to this world’s salvation, Shaarnath natives will give them a much warmer welcome than they may have in the past. Shaarnath currently lives in fear of collapsing in on itself, but there’s one definitive way to solve that: stopping these rebels before their influence can be spread any further within the city. If the city is to heal itself, then this sickness must be purged.

Though the rebels have largely vacated the city and chosen to lay low for the time being, it seems unwise to give them much more time to get back on their feet. The time to strike is now, and Rajaad will send out the call for aid, a follow-up of his previous call to arms. Thanks to the assistance of Otherworlders and their thorough investigation, as well as the efforts of a few dedicated Shaarnath citizens, the rebels have been tracked to a stronghold in the desert beyond the city. While engaging the rebels on their home turf might be dangerous, taking the fight to them seems like the best way to protect Shaarnath, and to stop this organization before it can do any further damage.

Characters who have already been meeting and coming up with their own action plans are welcome and encouraged to put them into effect during this event! Though prompts will be provided, as usual, there is a freeform element to this event in that players are encouraged to let their characters get involved however best suits them. Overall, this event will encourage capture over killing, and the fate of the rebels will be decided by the players when the event comes to a close.

Hey, guys! I just wanted to apologize for being gone for a few weeks somewhere that everybody can see. Basically I was dealing with my regular bout of seasonal depression and then my ferret got sick and needed surgery a month ago, so when she didn't need constant monitoring during the recovery phase, my brain was pretty fried that whole time. And I've spent the last couple weeks catching up on actual work I had that built up over that time.

SO yeah, seeing as I never actually officially hiatused, I'll say that Elliot here and Martel (untwisted) were on auto-pilot. They may have some delayed reactions here as I catch up, so please bear with me.

OH, I know I left a few Elliot threads hanging, too. If you'd like to continue those, please let me know by commenting here or PMing me or sending me a private Plurk at kaitodoushi. Or if you'd like to discuss handwaving the rest of it...well, same options XD
