Plot opportunity?

Okay, so Sabriel's canon has a somewhat unique magic system, and one of it's quirks is that it's not an inborn thing- rather, it's something given by baptism. Here's a basic description of it.

Here's a somewhat longer description of some potential uses for it. I should add that while Sabriel is unlikely to go out and start recruiting mages (yet), she's not exactly close lipped about how Charter Magic works and that it can be given to people.

There are, however, certain people who can't learn Charter magic. The Charter is tied to order and life, so the undead and people who use powers rooted in death, chaos, and other such things can't develop an affinity for it. (And delving into such things/becoming undead causes Charter mages to lose their abilities.)

So, is anyone interested in getting their characters involved in this/telling Sabriel she's making a Big Mistake by handing out magic?
