Monthly Mod Announcement: September
Hello everyone! We hope that August treated you well, because we'll be having an eventful month this September.
Any signs of Dream Dust will be gone by September, and Empatheias will be immune to it thanks to those who helped out with the cure! It should be business as normal now… At least, until the next big thing happens.
We will be introducing some new things to the game mechanics these next couple of months, so please bear with us as there will be some changes. Hopefully, they're for the better! As such, we'd like to ask for everyone's cooperation and feedback with regards to these changes. Please don't hesitate to contact us through the confidential contact or through this post for any concerns.
» CALENDAR
The main calendar spreadsheet is here as reference.
Here are the basic dates to keep up with:
- 9/01: Canon and Original Character Applications open; Plotting meme posted; Task Board updated; Adventure to a Sosyne-related location in Piphron’s domain.
- 9/05: Applications close; Reservations close; Intro log posted.
- 9/05-06: All applications should be processed by the end of this period.
- 9/15: EVENT: Part one begins.
- 9/20: EVENT: Part two begins.
- 9/25: Activity Check starts; Reservations open.
- 9/17: Test Drive.
- 9/28: Tentative: an Aiada surprise.
- 9/31: Activity check ends.
Again, our event takes place a bit early this month. Worry not! Only part 2 will have a log.
» ACTIVITY CHECK RESULTS

» JOBS & TASK BOARD
The Task Board has been updated so characters can start taking on odd jobs if they are so inclined. Details as to how the Task Board works and sign-up can be found on the said post, as well.
NOTE: We are currently using a new layout and system for the Task Board. This is just in the testing phase, and we would like to receive some feedback on the system! Leave your comments and suggestions below. If this new system doesn't take off, we'll switch back to the old system (the Task Board being in a Google Spreadsheet and sign-ups are done via commenting on the Task Board post). Please let us know what you think!
In addition, there is a Job List sheet that lists out more permanent jobs available for characters. The link to the job list can be found here. These are different from the Task Board jobs as they can be used as part-time or full-time jobs and do not have any specific time period. If you want your character to have a job, that's it. This is also where we will list character run businesses. So if you have one or are thinking about one, there will be a place where it can be referenced and looked at. You can even make tasks relating to your business.
The location of each task is determined by the colors they're labeled with. So, White = Verens; Yellow = Shaarnath; Pink = Theastai; Purple = Excursions; Red = Plot.
As always, we highly encourage anyone to fill out task ideas. (Or if someone is actually crazy and willing to help be our task board generator, we will gladly hire you.)
» EMOTION TRACKER UPDATE
The Emotion Tracker has been updated with new sheets. If you forgot, you can still submit to the tracker and just have it count toward this month. This includes any events that occurred.

Anyone who is interested in the fancy breakdown of points can find it here—but don't worry too much about it if numbers aren't your thing.
And here we have a negative month! Nothing too drastic to affect the island, but it looks like people went hard during that AU event.
Daimonia and Peromei got hit the hardest hit this month, while Piphron has managed to score the most positive points. He is currently competing with Aiada in terms of the most number of positive months for this year. She is, as usual, trending positive. Elios and Thras are holding some tiny negatives, though it barely changes anything with regard to how they’re trending overall (hugely positive for Elios, and largely negative for Thras). Meanwhile Sosyne is barely holding on to her net positive, and would’ve been the hardest hit Arehtei had it not been for the Haschen memorial.
» AREHTEI COMMITTEE LOG RECAP
For those inclined, an overview of what’s been discussed in last month’s Arehtei Committee meeting can be found here. Thank you Reena for taking the time to collate these topics!
As a reminder, committee AC will be this month and will be asked for in the mid-month post. There will be no sign-ups for it this month, with the next one happening on October.
» SOSYNE AND AIADA ADVENTURES
As mentioned in the calendar, there will be two adventures (player-initiated expeditions) this month, starting off with a Sosyne-related one in Piphron’s domain! Both are open in nature, and the Sosyne adventure has already been posted here. For more details on what an adventure is versus an excursion, please check this post.
» PLOTTING IN THE OOC COMM
In the past, we've told people to plot on mod posts. Moving forward, we would like to encourage plotting for player plots happen in their own posts on the OOC comm. We'll make sure to link to them in the monthly and mid-monthly mod announcements, instead!
» WELCOME CENTRE PAMPHLET
The Welcome Centre pamphlet was written by Shun Aonuma, but he has recently been dropped. As this is a player-run information database of sorts, we'd like to encourage players and their characters to take upon the task of being the new point-person for the Welcome Centre pamphlet. In the case that any changes need or want to be made to the pamphlet, characters who will take upon the task will be able to apply these changes and have them printed out for the Welcome Centre.
For any questions regarding this, comment to this post and ask! We'd be more than happy to guide any players in what to do regarding this.
» AREHTEI RITUALS
Arehtei rituals are back after a break last month! For more details and sign-ups, please refer to this post.
» LISTS MAINTENANCE
Please check out the Taken Characters List (A-M | N-Z) and make sure your information is correct! For those who have characters whose icons are not showing, please correct these so that we can fix them accordingly. Character names should link to their respective info pages, as well. If you don't your character's info page is not linked yet, please have the link added to the taken list.
We’d also like to remind everyone of the Player Contact list. If you haven’t updated your contact information there or if you haven’t commented to the post yet, we encourage you to do so. It will help your fellow players get in touch with you. Alternatively, if you don’t want your information posted there, please make sure there is an easy way to contact you in your character journals.

We'd like to suggest having the pamphlet on Emizel's journal so you can freely edit it when it is convenient for you. We'd just like to ask to check the new changes and approve it before finalising the post.
Once you have it ready, please let us know! And we'll be sure to make a note of it in the mid-month post if it's ready before then. Otherwise, we'll inform the playerbase regarding the change in October's mod announcement.
