empatheias_ooc | Two Year Anniversary Cultural Festival

Hello! This is Jax, player of the ball of sunshine known as Usagi!

Usagi found out the date when everyone started arriving to Empatheias and she actually had the idea for a game-wide CULTURE FESTIVAL!.

This is how it would work: rather than learning about the culture of Empatheias, characters would get a chance to share their world's cultures. Characters can set up booths sharing food, games, crafts, clothes, and everything else. Even if there are multiple canons from the same country, booths can still be unique! A booth can be anything a player would want. There will be an IC announcement after the weekend by Usagi but I figured getting the planning started now couldn't hurt!

The festival would be a two day festival starting on the 7th to the 8th ICly and would be the 7th-10th OOCly so that new players and characters can participate in it too!

Official events will be:
Fashion show/contest: Strut your culture's stuff! (with prizes for participation as both a model and/or designer)
Music show: Share the music of your culture! (Instruments will be provided on loan)
NEWLY ADDED: Weaponry/Fighting Showcase: Show off what's unique about your culture's magic/weaponry/fighting.
Fireworks: On the 8th during the night as a festival finale

BUT PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SUGGEST ANY OTHER EVENTS. If you would like your character to run a culture booth there will be a signup as well in the comments. Anyone can participate and run a booth or sign up for the official events!

Heyo! I literally just had this idea when I saw the post up but Edea is arranging for a celebration for those who have been here two years up here! Is it alright if we handwave that she coordinated with Usagi on this?

That would be wonderful, actually! I've been super busy so I haven't even gotten a chance to post in my own log XD

Please put in the header if your character will be a MODEL or a DESIGNER. Would your character need to be forced? That can be plotted out here too!

If the Sylvari can sign up as a group to this, the idea is to show off their natural plant clothes (which grows off them, so they can't exactly put it on anyone else...). It would be Canach, Trahearne, and Syrlya but you can count them as only one entry for the competition.

It's just a fun showcase so as a group is more than fine!

What will be at the booth? Food. A lot of food. Though if people ask questions Kon will give history/literature/folklore lessons because he's a fuckin nerd but his focus is food.

Culture: (post apocalyptic-)Iceland
What will be at the booth? Reynir. Maybe some games? And possibly some pictures of Iceland, but mostly Reynir, ready and willing to talk to people about Iceland.

Yeah okay, even though he's not so into the whole "cultural festival" aspect of it, he is down with demonstrating or spar fighting with someone for showcasing.

So yeah, count Hak in. FEEL THE POWER OF THE THUNDER BEAST.

Oh this could be fun. A lot of people have shown interest in lightsabers and Obi-Wan could do a demonstration! Maybe he can drag Anakin into this too. 8D
