— MID-MONTH ANNOUNCEMENT: OCTOBER —

Quite a lot is happening this month, and it's not even from us! But first a few quick links to check if you haven't already:

Just a quick reminder of a few dates that are coming up.

Verens Crystal Status
At first the crystal started to dip back down toward silvery gray, but now with the dance coming up as well as a few things happening amongst the character it's quickly clearing and will soon be shimmering a light gold. It will likely fluctuate over the rest of the month, but it should remain between a neutral clear and more positive light gold shimmer.

Jobs & Task Board
Just a reminder about the Task Board! Aside from Mickey's request, there are no new tasks currently. However, a few events seem to have sprung from the ones listed. Take a look!

Mini-Events Galore!
Boreas Seasonal Dance. First of all, we would like to direct everyone's attention to a seasonal dance that will be occurring on the 14th. It is actually based off one of the jobs from the task board. Although there are those who will be doing the actual assignment, it's gotten so popular that a general "dance event" will occur to allow anyone who would like to join in on the more festive aspects. Thus characters can be there as part of the job or just because they want to have fun. In addition, characters will note that the city is becoming more festive with the mood lightening those involved work on decorating the park the dance will be held in. It's a dance that's focused more for the younger teens and adults, so there is also a youthful air about. This same generation will also be more open and willing to work with the characters.

Porring Invasion. As a result of one the monster hunt against the giant Porring, a small but numerous "army" of little porrings will "invade" Verens. It will be more like as if a herd of animals got loose as these little porrings will pose no threat to anyone. They are also adoptable. For those interested, refer to this post.

Upcoming Halloween party. As mentioned in our previous mod post, there is no Empatheias version of Halloween. There will be a full-fledged harvest festival next month and a different type of "day of the dead" event in January. However, Mickey Mouse will be trying to host a Halloween party for those both familiar and unfamiliar with the holiday! He has a few job offers up on the task board so anyone who can pitch in and help would be welcomed and appreciated.

In spirit of Halloween. While Empatheias itself might not have Halloween, that doesn't mean the world can't have a few odd reactions to it. Later in the month when it's closer to the holiday, there will be a few very notable effects occurring based on everyone's emotions. Due to the high amount of positivity, nothing too spooky or terrible will happen—unless something happens that drastically changes that. but in the meantime, things might really go "bump" in the night as well as become a little sweet. We'll post details the week of Halloween (so roughly the last week of October, around the time of the Activity Check).

Message from Rebbekah
Rebbekah and Pearce have been hard at work studying those crystals. Everyone will receive a note via messenger bird that the results will be published and shared with everyone. The note reads as follows:

Hey guys! I want to give a lot of thanks to everyone who helped and let us examine the crystals. We made a lot of interesting findings that I can't wait to share with everyone. I wish I could say more, but protocol dictates that it be published first. Fortunately I can speed up that process, so expect the paper out by the end of the month!

As an additional thanks, I'm scrapping the raffle and instead giving everyone a free ticket to the hot springs! They expire in Dodeca, so you have until the end of Notus to use them. Enjoy!

As an OOC reminder, Dodeca is March and Notus is winter. Also, as indicated each character will find a pass to the hot springs attached to the message. They can be used at any time and unless you guys would prefer us to, we will not hold any official "event" regarding it. We will leave it up to you guys how you'd like to handle it.

Player Plots & Events
We'll close this announcement with a few plots and mingling opportunities created by players.

Jack-O-Lanterns. Jade will put up the details soon, but Sanae will be offering to help make Jack-O-Lanterns for the Halloween festivities! Keep a look out for the details.
Anyone have a chair? A barber chair in specific, which is what Hiroshi is after. Lend the (half) werewolf a hand?
Cat Hunt and Porring Invasion. The porrings have already been mentioned, but Alvin is recruiting for help for both the cat search and the porring hunt jobs. Here's the link to the OOC details again.
How did you die? Edgar is under the impression this is the afterlife and thus is asking, as he admits, a bold question. Plot twist—some people are actually dead.
Welcoming Committee Proposal. Mickey and Takakage have proposed an idea that a welcoming committee be set up for the new arrivals that keep showing up. They'd like some volunteers and suggestions!
Who knows politics? Gaius—I mean, Erston Outway is curious about the politics of this world as well as an inquiry about a spirit named Muzét. Perhaps similar minded individuals may find his query interesting.
Who likes to spar? Marisa could use some sparring practice so if anyone is around and would like to get some exercise, go for it!
Define normal. Hori has asked the somewhat loaded question if anyone normal is around. Who knew this place would have more magic people than not.
Monster hunting teams go! Roy is once again recruiting party members for various monster hunt jobs. Anyone a cleric?
Metalbending. Ever seen anyone bend metal with their hands without touching it? Go watch Korra—or avoid her giant dog running through the streets.
In the business to help! Mana, Rikka, and Alice are offering themselves to help out whoever may need it. Be it general protection, setting up, whatever you can think of, they are offering their magical girl powers. Bonus points, you don't have to sign a contract with a creepy mascot.
Jobs, jobs, and more jobs. Juudai might have bitten off more than he can chew. He's doing a lot of part-time jobs. Hopefully your presence doesn't make him drop that box of glass.
Three days and a year. Jude, Milla, and Alvin had left Empatheias for three days, but spent a year back in their own world. Confusing? You bet it is. How that relates to how characters might leave is unknown but try asking them and maybe some pieces to the puzzle might appear. Or not.
Need a doctor? Mephisto is offering his assistance for anything medical related. He's also attempting to start his own practice. Perhaps there are others who may be interested?
So about those ruins... Yuri Lowell is considering heading out to the ruins. Good idea or bad idea?

We might have missed some and only went back about two weeks, so be sure to take a look back yourself! Also be sure to check the Character Introduction Log!
