Mid-Month Announcement: March
We waited until after the Arehtei Challenges was through before posting this so we could go ahead and include it in the announcement. Sorry for the delay, but here is the mid- (three-quarter?) month announcement.
» CALENDAR
Here are the dates you should know for the rest of the month. The main calendar spreadsheet can be found here.
- 3/19: Test Drive.
- 3/25: Activity Check starts; Reservations open.
- 3/26: MYSTERY
- 3/31: Activity Check ends.
- 4/01: Applications Open. (Reminder that they close 4/04.)
IMPORTANT REMINDER: It's noted above, but again we just want to stress that April is the first month we are trying the 4-day app cycle. This is our last notice.
» MOD NOTICE
Due to real life obligations, Jade is stepping down as full-time mod and is now more of a part-time assistant mod to help when she can. We won't work her hard, we promise. But wanted to give you guys a heads up. So the current mod team is:
Laena (Head)
Dragon
Bella
Ryn
We are currently not opening spots if only because we're still uncertain about Jade's full schedule. If we do determine we need to open it up, at least Peromei's position, we will.
» EMOTION TRACKER UPDATE
As always, it's kind of early to tell where the Emotion Tracker is going. Crystal still broken.
As a reminder, this is just a "mid-month" check to give everyone an idea of where the Emotion Tracker stands. If you haven't had a chance to submit your threads, don't worry! You can still submit and have it count for the final tally at the end of the month.
Here is a screenshot of the stats:

Two words: dammit Kylo.
» TASK BOARD THINGS
This is just a quick little reminder that we are always open for Task Board suggestions! This is also a bit of a heads up that we'll be working to design the tasks to relate more to various canons represented with the game.
We are even open to creating task board jobs that are targeted toward a specific character, whether it be some kind of "Wanted" poster (be it mistaken or legit) or perhaps more on the prank side (these will be handy come April...). If there's anything specific you may have in mind to get your character involved, feel free to come up with a task and submit!
» CAMPAIGN RESULTS
Well that was a lot of political stuff we just blew through, wasn't it? For those who missed out, here's a quick recap. The main campaign log was here, blitz voting here, and results ICly announced by our very own Princess Celestia. So welcome our new IC reps, Gordan Freeman and White!
» AREHTEI REPRESENTATIVES
Those who participated in the challenges were put through the wringer, weren't they? We'll still continue the threads until completion (or if the players would feel better handwaving the rest, we can do that as well—whichever is easier), but as we said in the very beginning, we're sticking to a schedule to keep things moving. Everyone who signed-up knew beforehand whether they were chosen, so we will go ahead and list them here. An IC announcement is forthcoming. Just posting it here as well to ensure everyone has a chance to see it (easier to reference, too).
Aiada: Shuu Tsukiyama
Daimonia: Shun Aonuma
Elios: Bucky Barnes, Lu Meng
Peromei: Emizel, Nagito Komaeda
Piphron: Jude Mathis, Frisk
Sosyne: Reimu Hakurei, Edward Elric
Thras: Kor Meteor, Trahearne
Please remember that when we selected the representatives, we first did it through what the Arehtei themselves think of each candidate, and then used RNG when it was about even. It was a maximum of two reps, although it was possible for there to be only one. Everyone else who signed up are set as first choice back-ups. Should a character resign, fired, or leave the game, the back-ups can come forth and volunteer to take their place.
» THAT MYSTERY EVENT
...Is not so much an event in the "usual" sense for RP. Rather, this time the term is used in its more traditional definition.
Something will occur on the night of the March 26th and what happens afterward will be up to the characters. Nothing will happen that will directly impact characters, so if you have any plots or such things that you want to do, you should be clear to go. Unless your character may want to go and check out the "thing" that will happen.
But in any case, no one or thing is attacking the city this time around. There will be a signal post and from there it'll be up to you guys to organize where to go from there.
» PLAYER PLOTS & THINGS
A few things went up recently so here are some free promotions and reminders!
- Welcome Centre. Lu Meng is starting a welcome centre for newbies, and it could use some volunteers and suggestions! Word in the wind suggests that there will be an opening log sometime this week as well.
- Camping Trip. Another camping trip is in the works. It's set for mid-April with definite date to be determine.
- Grave Robbers Part II. It seems like the grave robbing plot from January isn't over. Those who were involved and interested Enforcers members are invited to continue the investigation!
- Helping Colette. In his quest to cure Colette's disease, Lloyd is asking for help to collect some memories of her.
-------------------------
And that's about it. If you have any questions, concerns, or want things clarified, please comment to this entry.

Firstly, the crystal is still busted, but how close are the eggheads in the observatory to fixing it? Gordon and Kor brought the idea that the interdiction might be to blame to Rebekah's attention, and Gordon WILL bring it to the council's attention now that he's in a position to, but what else can they do?
Secondly, apathy testing hasn't really stopped since Naomi left, it's just slowed to a lackadaisical crawl... Is it safe to announce any kind of breakthrough about it yet? Or about emotion recording media, or elemental core experiments, which are the other two hot topics in the labs?

2) We think enough time has passed to safely say that a lot of progressed has been made toward all subjects. Emotion recording media and elemental core experiments are definitely something that should be doable, as the locals would have the tech and incentives already established to do so (that is to say, it's elemental core experiments have always been on-going, and emotion recording media would have already been started on long before the characters arrived, but the technology is still relatively newish so advancement is still on going—similar to how there were a lot of inventions and research going on during the Industrial Revolution period).
As for apathy, reasonable breakthroughs are likely to be had, but it is a tricky thing. Which matters in specific are you asking about/most interested in?

2) Awesome. Now comes the fun part: figuring out what the gizmos they've produced LOOK like. XD
3) Gordon had actually mentioned to Alvin about work on both the apathy barrier and a beam-based application, (An emotion laser? An Emoser?) but implied that work was slow and tenuous on both.
He also has an... uncanny tendency to turn things into weapons, almost without meaning to. So there's that, too. >_>

2) So long as it looks magitech/steampunky you should be good!
3) The barrier might be easier, although the real issue would be containing the apathy so that it affects only the barrier and not other people around it. As for the "laser," that will be a harder sell. Emotions used to fuel weapons is not an unknown concept, and there are some "underground" organizations that look into it (especially with anger as the main source of "ammo"), but it's very restricted because it can be volatile and dangerous. Aaand the Arehtei will also pick up on it and likely intervene for reasons.
