IC TL;DR meme!
I think traditionally I'm supposed to put some kind of amusing yet relevant picture here, so, uh...

I'm really not sure how that's relevant but that's what you get.
1. Leave a blank comment for your characters!
2. Respond to other people's blank comments!
3. They respond with a long and rambly speech analyzing what their character thinks of your character!
4. Discussion happens???

But in seriousness, this is all speculation, but I imagine he's pretty weary about Alvin, but really wants to believe in him and how he wants to change for the better. I mean, he's probably heard stories, hell, he's had him on his side before just for a bit. He also had Presa so I'm sure... he knew about them. And maybe part of him still judges Alvin for doing that to her because she was one of his precious subordinates.
Which is why he can put the past behind him. Gaius knows he's not all clean himself thanks to his ambitions. He knows what it's like to have to give up himself. And as the team dad, he wouldn't mind if Alvin decided to confide in him. Of course when conversations go the raunchy direction, Gaius just ignores it because, lbr, he's not that kind of guy. Just smile and nod. Kind of like what he does with Muzét. Overall, Alvin has proven he's a lot more trustworthy, and Gaius would be willing to fight by his side. Would he die for him? No. They're not that good of comrades and that trust is something that Alvin will have to build for himself. However, Gaius is there to lend a helping hand since he has helped rebuild the broken before.

It's okay Gaius, feel free to judge him he deserves it. Also Gaius you wouldn't be able to die for him even if they were that close you're like. Unkillable. Except for maybe in a certain bad end—

Yeah only that certain bad end. Which is funny. Because he wasn't even killed in Elle's fractured dimension, only crippled.
