GENERAL INFORMATION

It's here at last, our final Flower Festival for the game /wipes tear. Fortunately Elios isn't aware that people could be leaving soon or we'd have another yandere event on our hands. Instead this is filled with our usual festival fluff and a big surprise.

WE ARE OPENING THE FLOWER FESTIVAL EVENT FOR ANOTHER FOURTH WALL OPPORTUNITY.
Yep, you read that right. This is a sudden decision so not as rigidly organized as our previous fourth wall, but the same basics apply:

• Anyone from anywhere can come into the game without any proper registration or application, tag into the event or other in-game posts, and the only posting limitation is players can only create toplevels within the Flower Festival event posts.
  
• 4th wallers can vote on the King and Queen nominations, but cannot make their own nominations.
  
• Official explanation of arrival will be given post-event, but for now people can assume it's the usual "the world suddenly pulled them in" shenanigans.
  
• How long 4th wall characters will stay will be officially announced post-event, but no one will have to leave immediately after. Players can assume they'll have at least until the end of April. Otherwise players are free to stick around for the event only and assume their character disappears after.
  
• 4th wall characters do not have to participate in the event, this is just the timeframe when they can pop in. They are free to tag anywhere else if players have different plans.

Because of this sudden decision, we're a little delayed on the event, but only by one day. So here is our new schedule along with other general information about the event:

• Open logs: We will have two open logs. The main log will be posted Saturday, April 18th with a finale log posted a week later, Saturday, April 25th. This of course does not mean everyone is limited to a week to thread things, we just need to post up the finale in a timely manner and people can tag at their convenience.
  
• IC-OOC schedule: The festival ICly lasts for 3 days while OOCly we're designating an official week.
  
• Opt-in: This event is NOT mandatory, so characters can come and go as they please or flat out ignore it. The festival is set outside of Verens, and while the city itself will have its own decorations and festivities, it's not as robust as the official one.
  
• Flower King and Queen: Nominations and voting are to be done in this post and deadline for voting is Thursday, April 23rd. As mentioned, 4th wall characters will be able to vote, but not nominate. Results will be posted with the finale.

LOVE IS AN OPEN DOOR

In recent years the Flower Festival has been held in Diateris, a lost city that has been reclaimed and healed thanks to the years of outpouring love and devotion to the land. However, recently a small floating island that had housed the small village called "Henoia" has returned to the surface. Further investigation has revealed that it is part of a larger piece of land with a castle that despite a snowy environment has shown signs of thawing and restoration, flowers blooming despite the ice and cold weather.

Thus Elios wants to use the Flower Festival to channel more of that sweet love to help heal the land further and restore it to its former beauty. Rather than outdoors, the festival will take place within the castle, and visitors will find various objects and furniture within it to be rather…lively. Will you be their guest for the next few days and remind these old castle walls what it means to be alive and full of love again?

CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE TONIGHT

To help players plan out what they can do during the festival, here is a quick outline of the prompts that will be available.

Main Log

• Castle. It's really neat. Castle-shaped and so on. The highlights will include a lively banquet hall where they'll prepare and serve with flair a culinary cabaret, doors up in one of the towers that lead to rooms where you can walk with your favorite people once upon a dream, and a balcony that gives you an excellent starting point for your magic carpet ride. Let your heart decide.
  
  
• Gardens. The bulk of the flowers are here, of course, and they will sing obnoxiously at you. Bracelets can be woven of some of them that provide partners with the Force something of a boost in their connections, and the maze is a wicked thorny number this year. For those of you who just want to relax, please look forward to our very first hot springs filler episode. Towels and bathing suits will be provided.
  
  
• Peromei's Temple. She has one now, and if you were thinking we were joking about her putting a Steambucks in it, you were wrong. There is a Steambucks in it. There's also a wishing well that can grant some of your silliest little hopes, and an opportunity to help decorate the stained glass that makes up the majority of her temple walls. Probably though the most important thing is the Steambucks.
  

Finale Log

• Grand Ball. Kicked off by the coronation of the Flower King and Queen, the ball will be pretty straightforward! Except for the really neat thing that will happen. Wait for it.
  

Don't let the short outline fool you, the prompts themselves are quite robust.

BIPPITY BOPPITY BOO

For the Flower King and Queen nominations, there will be two separate subthreads for each category. Current players can comment with their characters the nominations for each and then any player, including fourth wall visitors, can reply with their character with "+1" in the subject line as their vote. If you're confused, don't worry—we'll provide an example but you can also look to last year. To keep things fair, characters can only vote for another character once. However, they can vote for as many characters as they want. Needless to say, these should be IC based, not OOC based.

There are no gender restrictions. Male characters can be nominated for Queens, and female characters can be nominated for Kings. They can also be nominated in both categories. In the unlikely situation that the character wins both categories, we'll place them in the category they scored the highest one. And in the even more unlikely event they have the same score, we choose whichever one is more entertaining. As for ties between characters, we'll flip a coin.

Only characters who have never won the contest before can be nominated.

Deadline for voting is Thursday, April 23rd.
