Shinjiro won't be too much help inside, beyond being a good barrier to protect people from sentries and whatever dangers happen to pop up that can be sorted via smashing with a hammer. Mainly because he'll leave all the tech stuff to people who know what their doing, and would rather not mess with it himself.

Outside, though, he'll be more capable of actively lending a hand. Also will probably help cook up some decent food too. Wouldn't be against having him fall into some tar as well, but despair and him tend to involve a lot of ice.
