Yeah, I figure if we get them talking and get some CR going first, it'll be easier to eventually broach the whole "whoops so I spent my life thinking I was this one person but I'm actually not" topic once Emil learns the truth about what he is. Plus they're both derps and I think their personalities will probably mesh fairly well once they get to know each other... and what better way to do so than by attempting to scale a giant cat?
