Player Plot - The Broken Turnabout [Part 1]

Hello everyone! Slip here with an outline + interest check/sign-ups for a player plot that will be threaded out mostly during the month of March! Yes it's another Ace Attorney-style trial whoops

!! WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS FOR DR3 FOLLOW !!

General Premise

Throughout January and February, a serial pet/animal killer will be on the loose. The culprit is none other than Chisa Yukizome, who did those things while having a despair fit. She'll be arrested around the beginning of March. An investigation will happen (tentatively) around the first week IC-ly and a trial will happen around the third week, so newbies will have a chance to participate and investigate! She'll be the defendant and will be found guilty (but might plead not guilty due to insanity, still ironing out the details on that one). Still, she will most likely be "punished" by having her brain fixed here in Emp (since she hasn't always been like this and she basically got lobotomized into enjoying despair).

TL;DR, the dates of interests:

- January to February: The pet killings/injuries happen
- March 6th: Chisa gets arrested and an investigation begins (OOC-ly, I will post the investigation log on the 1st)
- March 15th: Trial start! (OOC-ly, log will be posted on the 11th)

I will straighten out the specifics (i.e. circumstances behind the arrest, "pattern" behind the killings, convicting evidence, crime scene, etc) in time and will be posting another OOC update post sometime next month.

Wanted/Roles

The defense and prosecution roles are currently locked to Ryuunosuke Naruhodou and Klavier Gavin respectively, with Maya Fey and Nahyuta Sahdmadhi as their respective "official" co-counsels/assistants. Though that's not to say most of the AA cast will be playing musical chairs with the assistant seats anyway.

Everyone will be free to investigate the scenes, though Bobby Fulbright will be the official lead detective for the case/trial. Ema Skye will be working as his assistant, as by Verens law she isn't allowed to take the lead for this yet. For those wondering why Ema can't take the lead IC-ly given who is prosecuting and how we are handwaving things on her front given who the mundane is.

There are still, however, a lot of roles that need to be filled in! If you're interested in participating, please copy-paste the appropriate text box under the corresponding subthread!

Victims! Come and offer your pets as sacrifices! Well for this one, you can opt for an injury, as we can handwave the killings as stuff that may have happened to unnamed locals's pets. Overall, it depends on how much you don't want your character to have nice things and/or how badly you want negative CR with Chisa. (EDIT: I think I'd prefer those that would have a chance to be outside or unsupervised, since I don't think Chisa's... able to break into people's homes to get at their pets and while she'd definitely guilty, I'm still trying to figure out how to make things less stacked against her so the whole conviction thing isn't boringly straightforward.)

Other Suspects! Because it'll be fun for the defense to point fingers elsewhere as a tried and tested delaying tactic. Or rather, more red herrings and characters to complicate the situation would be great!

Etc. <b>Date of Suspicion:</b> What date would they be suspiciously out and about? A range would be fine so I can work that in with the victims if ever! <b>Would you like them to be found guilty of some of the killings/injuries?</b> Y/N, Chisa would be doing most of it but there's nothing like a few other stray incidents to keep everyone on their toes! Also let me know if there's a specific victim you have in mind!

Witnesses! May also be tied in with the above, especially if your character has a penchant for being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Do they know something about Chisa's character that would point to her as the culprit (or not)? Or did they see any of the other suspects around?

Investigators! Anyone will be free to investigate as both logs will be open, but anyway I'd still like to keep track of those who would be interested in investigating the crime scene! Especially if they'll be doing anything special, like tampering with the crime scene or having very specific discoveries.
