Meme: Offscreen/Handwaved CR!

The game is getting pretty huge, and it's plot-heavy to boot. There's plenty of opportunity to meet other characters in the event or mingle logs, but what about the rest of the time? Surely there are characters who trip over each other once a week just because they visit the same grocery store, or characters who haunt the same places because they have the same hobbies. So, here are some questions to help you sort out what we're all up to when there aren't any giant mythical beings attempting to stomp the city flat, and how our characters might be attracting one another's attention from day to day. It may be that some of us need only a little push to fall into each other's fictional pretendy funtime arms.

With thanks to the Luceti Daily Meme that I blatantly stole and altered!

Zero

1) Notable physical features: The guy’s a red and gold robot with a blond ponytail that’s barely inches from hitting the ground, so I guess the answer to that would be "he’s a walking set notable physical features". Also worth mentioning his hands are a little larger than the average human’s would reasonably be, and his calves do indeed take up quite a bit of room. At least he doesn’t walk in crowded streets?

... And yes, he does have suspiciously placed green orbs on his chest. I'm assuming they're sensors or something but they sure are uh. There. leave zero's a-cups alone

2) Age: Approximately ~100 or more (or less??? goddammit capcom), but based on his appearance and voice is supposed to be physically based on someone in the ballpark of 17 – 20.

3) What are some of their most common emotional effects?: Being a robot, his emotions are kinda muted unless something of significance happens (or unless he gets annoyed by something, which he usually is), but for the most part he tends to give off a literal cold air when he doesn’t want to be bothered by anyone. ... Which is most of the time until further notice but hey!

4) Where they live, and what their home is like: Zero took over a small house for himself when he first showed up and passed the fuck out in it and just kinda ... never left. Now he’s living there with Pascal, who currently resides in the basement (a decision he pretty much regrets on a daily basis but dammit he needs shit done okay) and is doing work for him. The house itself kinda looks sparse and barely lived in (aside from the basement, most likely) but that’s because he really does not care about things like that right now.

5) What they do during an average day in Verens: At the moment, he more or less does his own version of patrolling, though it’s more because he’s trying to see what routes are fastest in what situations and other such things. As such it’s likely someone’s probably seen his fire-engine-red self wandering around. That’s the reason he’d give if asked about it though. In truth he’s just restless, bored, and likely trying to get away from his roommate for a while. Beyond that, he’s usually trying to gather information from people so he can feel less uninformed about everything.

6) Their general sense of fashion: He looks the same at all times. Unless "unchanging mechanical body" is a fashion, I dunno.

7) Hobbies: He doesn’t really have any at the moment, mostly because he never really had much time for it back home. He does have an interest in swords though (especially energy-based ones, his own is essentially a Star Wars-esque light saber). He’ll get something else to do eventually, once he relearns what "relax" means.

8) Jobs: He has none at the moment, but I plan on having him join the Enforcers by the end of the month! Needing to pay for the house is kind of a thing, after all.

9) Do they have a weapon? If so, do they carry it at all times or just under certain circumstances?: Zero’s kind of a living weapon, but aside from the energy cannon embedded in his arm, he’s got his sword (which looks like a sword handle sticking out of some kind of white container on his back) with him at all times.

10) How long have they been in Empatheias? How has their time here impacted them?: Zero’s clocking in on nearly 2 months at this point, and things kinda went nuts from the start since he got here. Because of that, and because he doesn’t know most of what’s going on, it’s made him very restless and on-edge. He’s only recently begun to wind down from that and is taking to gathering information whenever he can instead of just being completely wound-up the whole time.

He’s also still trying to get used to being so heavily surrounded by humans and other beings that have never seen someone like him before, which is leaving him slightly more lenient than he’d otherwise be in a situation with so many unknowns for him. Kinda stuck doing that as it is, what with the info gathering he’s currently doing.

11) Their favorite areas/stores/hang-out locations?: ... Rooftops. It gives him a better view of everything and lets him be alone for a while. Otherwise he doesn’t really "hang out" anywhere.

12) Is the way they act in person different from the way they act over the amulets?: He’s a bit less uptight in his language and attitude over the amulets than he is in person, though anyone who ends up having multiple conversations with him will eventually not notice a difference there.

13) Is Empatheias a technological upgrade, or downgrade for them? Have they adapted to these changes well?: Maaaaaassive downgrade. He’s keeping most of it to himself, but he has some legitimate concerns about what to do if he takes damage his auto-repair systems can’t handle, or if his sword gets messed up while he’s here. He knows there’s mechanics around and all but he’s more concerned about materials than skill.

14) Do they have any special talents? If so, what are they?: Getting blown up and dying repeatedly He’s a highly skilled fighter, if that counts. Considering the unit he led back home was called "Shinobi" (actually called the 0th Battalion) he’s got a lot of skill in espionage and infiltration as well, but he hasn’t seen a reason to use those skills here just yet.

15) Do you have any goals for your character? Are there any hobbies you want them to discover or abilities you want them to learn?: Calm the fuck down, for one. He essentially had a drama nuclear warhead land on him in canon recently that he didn’t really recover from and is thus more or less in as bad of a "mental state" as you can reasonably be as a robot, so getting him through that he is my biggest goal for him (mostly because the way he "handles" that in canon is ... not good). I haven’t really thought of too much past that, since that’s pretty much the biggest hump that he needs to get over before too much else can be done. I’ll have to come back to that another time I guess!

16) Anything else you want to note?: Not really, nope.

Hello, fellow rooftop lurker~

Dezel likes to be up on the rooftops to get a better read via the wind and people watch. Kind of gets him out of the hustle and bustle of the streets below, even if none of the locals can see him. Possible he's seen/sensed Zero up on the roofs before and I'd be totally okay with Zero picking up on Dezel's presence (as living machines can sense the existence of seraphim in some way, even if it's just detecting life signs or some such). Dezel isn't the most social person, though, and even though he's spoken with Zero he doesn't know what the guy looks like, so also possible that outside of observing him briefly, grumpy wind shark would avoid him for the time being.

Rooftop superiority, hell yeah.

But yep, totally good with Dezel having seen/sensed Zero during his rooftop adventures. Zero would be able to sense some sort of energy signature and where it's coming from (or at least the general direction it's coming from), but he wouldn't be able to see/hear Dezel himself. I'd imagine Zero's picked up on Dezel's presence a few times but just chose not to say anything, since it wasn't causing a problem. He probably wouldn't bother saying anything to Dezel unless he was relatively close by, honestly! Sort of a "if you leave me alone, I'll leave you alone" deal.

Yes good, more rooftop people. Rooftoppers? Hm. Either way, unless you mean just talking about the job after he's already joined, Zero actually got word about the Enforcers from Kor already - although, since it was Kor, so he didn't get a lot out of him. He'd try to get additional information as to what they actually do from Kevin if he was given the opportunity, if you're good with that! o7

Also, that would be pretty great, as that's definitely something Zero would want to know. ... Though he'd probably be a bit suspicious as to why Kevin knows things to that extent himself, haha. Maybe that could be something we could thread out at some point?

That sounds like it'd work out best that way, yep! I actually just recently put him on the sign-ups, so he'll be working in both combat and investigation, mostly combat. He wouldn't be really doing stuff for patrol, though he'd be interested in knowing routes specifically to move quickly in an emergency.
