empatheias_ooc | Meme: Offscreen/Handwaved CR!

The game is getting pretty huge, and it's plot-heavy to boot. There's plenty of opportunity to meet other characters in the event or mingle logs, but what about the rest of the time? Surely there are characters who trip over each other once a week just because they visit the same grocery store, or characters who haunt the same places because they have the same hobbies. So, here are some questions to help you sort out what we're all up to when there aren't any giant mythical beings attempting to stomp the city flat, and how our characters might be attracting one another's attention from day to day. It may be that some of us need only a little push to fall into each other's fictional pretendy funtime arms.

1) Notable physical features: (Is there anything about your character's appearance that is likely to draw attention? Weird hair? Sword bigger than they are? Constantly wearing armor? Conga line of Pokemon following them down the street?)

2) Age: (Child? Grownup? Teenager? Ageless being with startlingly young features?)

3) What are some of their most common emotional effects?: (Do they leave trails of flowers in their wake everywhere they go, or are they prone to causing small thunderstorms in public?)

4) Where they live, and what their home is like: (Are they in the apartments in the standard residential area? Have they found a shifty hidey-hole for themselves in the slums, or have they moved into another neighborhood to live amongst the rich people? Who are their roommates?)

5) What they do during an average day in Verens: (Stay home, do chores, read, meet up with people, have a lot of feelings okaaaaaay, so on.)

6) Their general sense of fashion: (What they tend to wear when they're not wearing their usual canon getups.)

7) Hobbies: (Does your character like to draw? If so, maybe they cross paths with this other person who likes to draw in one of the local art stores. If they are a fighter, maybe other characters have seen them around the training grounds.)

8) Jobs: (Are they a clerk in a shop other characters might have reason to visit? Are they part of the waitstaff in a restaurant other characters might frequent? Do they deliver all over town, and meet up with several store owners?)

9) Do they have a weapon? If so, do they carry it at all times or just under certain circumstances?:

10) How long have they been in Empatheias? How has their time here impacted them?: (Do they hate it or want to stay? Are they invested in whatever's going on around them, or do they try not to get involved? How do they interact with the new folks?)

11) Their favorite areas/stores/hang-out locations?:

12) Is the way they act in person different from the way they act over the amulets?: (Are they articulate over the amulets, but hesitant and shy in person? Do they hate the amulets and avoid using them? Do they prefer image, voice, or text?)

13) Is Empatheias a technological upgrade, or downgrade for them? Have they adapted to these changes well?:

1) Notable physical features: She has ridiculously long hair. Like look at this bullshit. She also carries herself very proper-like. She is a LADY!!

2) Age: She is thousands of years old but because she’s a Tales character she looks like a slender young woman of… 21? 20-something??? Who knows. ~~ANIME~~

3) What are some of their most common emotional effects?: Sometimes bursts of colorful flames will happen near her and near others that happen to be in the same area at the time. She doesn’t notice it. They are harmless flames though! And because she’s invisible to most people it probably scares everyone who spots it and is mistaken for spooky ghost fire or something. She only recently figured out how to do it on purpose (during the block party log) but still causes it on accident.

4) Where they live, and what their home is like: She lives in a big house with the rest of the Zesitira cast… but as a seraphim doesn’t need to eat or sleep or bathe or anything like that. But she does all that stuff anyway because she likes to.

5) What they do during an average day in Verens: She likes to wander around the city and see the sights… and talk to her castmates and offer Fire Mom Support to them because they need it. She enjoys random conversations over the crystals with people too because she hasn’t gotten to have conversations with strangers in thousands of years.

6) Their general sense of fashion: Heels, long dresses, clothing that is modest and tasteful… but she also has a kawaii bathing suite so who knows.

7) Hobbies: She makes origami figures! Mostly flowers. She will also harass you to let her tell you your fortune which are usually ridiculous or not about you at all. And… puns. She likes to pun. They’re bad. They’re really, really bad.

8) Jobs: Are there jobs for invisible people…? (AKA she does not have a job...)

9) Do they have a weapon? If so, do they carry it at all times or just under certain circumstances?: She uses prayer paper slips as her weapon, weirdly enough. Because Tales games. She sets them on fire and launches them at people. Because… Tales games.

10) How long have they been in Empatheias? How has their time here impacted them?: Since December! She doesn’t mind it here. It’s a new adventure!! She has some castmates here so she’s happy with that and she wants to help the natives if she can.

11) Their favorite areas/stores/hang-out locations?: Probably the park or just around the Zestiria house. She likes to wander the city in general.

12) Is the way they act in person different from the way they act over the amulets?: Nah, it’s pretty much the same for her.

13) Is Empatheias a technological upgrade, or downgrade for them? Have they adapted to these changes well?: UPGRADE and to be honest she kind of avoids most of the heavily technology based areas like the airship dock. She doesn’t know what to make of all this tech. She thinks it's neat but it probably frightens her a little to some degree.

14) Do they have any special talents? If so, what are they?: She can set things on fire! And is pretty motherly, I guess. She can be good at understanding the feelings of others.

15) Do you have any goals for your character? Are there any hobbies you want them to discover or abilities you want them to learn?: Nothing really! I’m kind of just winging it with her since I feel like I’m not the best at writing her voice. Still feeling that out too. Mostly getting her to talk to people and form CR. Since again, this is something really new to her so she’s happy to do it.

16) Anything else you want to note?: Tales games are stupid and I love them.

Sorey suggested that Dezel speak to Lailah about re-forging the Sub Lord pact, if just so that he would be more protected from impurities. Think that discussion and possibly the reforged pact is something that could have been handled in a handwaved fashion, maybe?

Yeah, that's totally fine. We can assume it was done already or will be done if you had some kind of timeframe of when you wanted it to happen. Either way is cool with me. o7
