Meme: Offscreen/Handwaved CR!

The game is getting pretty huge, and it's plot-heavy to boot. There's plenty of opportunity to meet other characters in the event or mingle logs, but what about the rest of the time? Surely there are characters who trip over each other once a week just because they visit the same grocery store, or characters who haunt the same places because they have the same hobbies. So, here are some questions to help you sort out what we're all up to when there aren't any giant mythical beings attempting to stomp the city flat, and how our characters might be attracting one another's attention from day to day. It may be that some of us need only a little push to fall into each other's fictional pretendy funtime arms.

With thanks to the Luceti Daily Meme that I blatantly stole and altered!

1) Notable physical features: ...Constantly wearing grubby full-body armour, yeah. Until I finish writing up his canon update. He's about seven foot tall and very spiky. Any meowing noises you might hear when he moves around are completely your imagination. He wears his amulet on a chain around his wrist, like a weird sort of bracelet.

2) Age: 16ish. His voice sounds decidedly younger, maybe 12 or a very squeaky 13.

3) What are some of their most common emotional effects?: The light reflecting off his armour or other light sources nearby can do weird things depending on how he's feeling. Nearby stone, earth, dust and metal in particular often crack or shift around in sympathy with him too. He wears his feelings on his armoured sleeve, for the most part.

4) Where they live, and what their home is like: He and his brother Edward share an apartment. It's super messy and home to a lot of disorganised notes - formerly home to a small kitten as well, but it escaped.

5) What they do during an average day in Verens: He gets by on task board tasks and errands for natives / other characters he's gotten to know over the past year, but he has a lot of off time, especially at night. If he's not out and about or volunteering at an animal shelter, he might be at the library quietly adding to those reams of notes, or at home doing the same. He also likes to hang around Lake Niras, practising martial arts stances by himself or just quietly sitting.

6) Their general sense of fashion: Armour. Clank clank clank.

7) Hobbies: Armour (or so he claims; it would be clear after questioning him at all that he doesn't know much about the technicalities), politeness, small fluffy animals. He has a distinctly childlike sense of fun and will join in with kids' games given half a chance. But he also has the stupid sense of obligation that runs in his family, so he tends to feel bad when he isn't doing something more productive.

8) Jobs: Nothing more formalised than task board stuff and volunteering. He has worked with NPC and PC Enforcers on past cases, and remains on reasonably good terms with them.

9) Do they have a weapon? If so, do they carry it at all times or just under certain circumstances?: He carries one or two sticks of chalk inside his armour at all times to facilitate his alchemy. That's all he needs.

10) How long have they been in Empatheias? How has their time here impacted them?: He's been here a year and counting (since March 2015), and has grown to feel more indebted to the people of Verens in that time. His highest personal priority is still ultimately finding a way to go home, though - he left someone important back there.

11) Their favorite areas/stores/hang-out locations?: The library, the markets, grocery stores, miscellaneous greener areas outdoors, anywhere where there are cats. He prefers not to visit cafes or restaurants except with his brother.

12) Is the way they act in person different from the way they act over the amulets?: He's soft-spoken and sensitive under basically all circumstances until given a reason to behave some other way. In person, his body language is deliberately restrained so that he doesn't tower over people as much; over the amulets, he sticks to voice or text when he can and allows himself to be a little freer about his emotions, but there isn't a massive difference.

13) Is Empatheias a technological upgrade, or downgrade for them? Have they adapted to these changes well?: The magitech parts of it were new to him in the beginning, but are nothing he hasn't long since adapted to.

14) Do they have any special talents? If so, what are they?: Capable of locating cats anywhere. Also capable of drawing complicated magic circle things with perfect geometrical accuracy in the blink of an eye and using them to reshape pretty much any physical matter at will, but the cat thing is more useful in his opinion.

15) Do you have any goals for your character? Are there any hobbies you want them to discover or abilities you want them to learn?: Alphonse, too, needs to learn some chill. I'd be happy if he got to do more of his socialising / errand-running on-screen, if that makes sense. I'm also hoping his canon update in the near future will widen his options.

16) Anything else you want to note?: someone else in the cast will bring a better gif than I can come up with rn I'm sure

Sure thing! Maybe they did introductions back when Ed and Al were sniffing around with the Enforcers pre Pride plot?
