After being in the game for a while I've noticed a trend in the (collective) mods' actions that has concerned me. I feel like there's an unwelcoming feeling towards new players during application time. For the past few rounds there have been multiple public comments in the mod run plurk (and other public spaces but that's not as important as the specific app/reserve plurk) complaining about the amount of apps. Even if these are meant to be said jokingly the tone can be easily lost when they are repeated over and over. While I know mod work can be stressful and even annoying to see this stated right to the face of potential applicants is discouraging. There's more leeway in personal plurks but seeing this in Empatheias' official mod plurk is something I consider unacceptable. It gives off an impression like "wow, would it be better if I just delete my app right now then?"
I'm not saying that new players aren't accepted by old players or that there is no tag outs on the ic intro. Emp is actually a very welcoming game! I'm simply saying the ooc welcome could use some work.
