It was a terrible situation overall and the both of you did well in bringing the case to the attention of the wider community. But if you want the public's perception of the alchemist community to change, then you can't rely on past efforts alone. What stands out in immediate memory are not the investigation efforts, but the fact that people were kidnapped and killed.

You can rest on your laurels and continue complaining, or you can get out there and fix your reputation.

Except its wasn't a damn alchemist to begin with!! Selim Bradley is a homunculus, if you're going to be holding symposiums to talk crap about people, hold it on that.

Alchemists have done a lot shitty crap where we come from, but the ones here haven't done anything. Not me, not my brother, not even that annoying Colonel.

If we deserved this rep I'd be the first one out there trying to fix it.

In the public eye, that doesn't matter. People were tortured and killed, and they don't know why. That creates a lot of fear. You could have a spotless record but with the fear they already have the unknown they're looking for reasons.

And you became one. It could happen to any one of us. What will set you apart is what you do now.

I didn't say it was easy. But from experience, getting angry about it doesn't do anything. That doesn't mean you can't get angry. It's alright to not be okay with it.

But the only way to get through it is to keep walking. Stalling just leads to more people dying. Usually, people you care about.

Whether you deserve it or not, you're stuck with this reputation. You can lose your temper all you like but that isn't going to change how people regard the alchemists. It's an unfair situation and you have my sympathies for it, but if you do want people to stop blaming the alchemists you're going to have to do something about it. And shouting at the symposium clearly hasn't worked.
