IC TL;DR meme!

I think traditionally I'm supposed to put some kind of amusing yet relevant picture here, so, uh...

I'm really not sure how that's relevant but that's what you get.

1. Leave a blank comment for your characters!
2. Respond to other people's blank comments!
3. They respond with a long and rambly speech analyzing what their character thinks of your character!
4. Discussion happens???

Marisa --> Sanae!

It'd be better to have Reimu around, but Marisa is glad to have at least ONE of the shrine maidens here. She can't help comparing the two, and she has decided that if Reimu was more like Sanae, then Gensokyo would be in a lot of trouble. Against anything non-human, Marisa would trust her to watch her back without reservation, but she's a little worried that Sanae has trouble with shades of gray. The whole ordeal with her finding out Alice was a youkai really disturbed her. Alice has never shown Gensokyo any harm, and more to the point is one of Marisa's best friends. An attack on Alice feels to Marisa like an attack on her, at least in part. Still, as long as no more problems come up she's content to let the matter lie for now.

On more casual matters, Marisa enjoys teasing Sanae. The girl feels very strongly about doing the morally right thing in every situation. Marisa, as we all know, has a much more fluid view of right and wrong. She views it as a personal challenge to get Sanae to loosen up, if only because it would make it easier to plan misdeeds of her own.

Over all, though, Sanae is a good companion, and Marisa is glad to have her around, as much as an ally in battle as just someone to have fun and chill out with (in a vaguely stuffy but endearing sort of way.)

Alvin hasn't honestly left a HUGE impression on her, but he seems reliable in a pinch. She might not invite him to a private get together of friends, but she would to a more public party. She would also think of him if she needed someone to deal with some serious but mundane problem. Bandits, natural disasters, backed up plumbing...

You know. Grownup stuff.

He'll take being reliable! And doing grown-up stuff. They would be the most mature.

Both Alice and Saber, since I'm sure Marisa has a decent overview of Saber now after all the stuff she's pulled near her.
not_good_not_wicked: (Okay maybe not ENTIRELY sober)

Saber

Marisa is vaguely alarmed by Saber. She's seen first hand just how ridiculously powerful she is, and is worried about her ability to take her down, should it prove necessary. FORTUNATELY she seems super chill and like a generally upstanding citizen, so it probably won't come up.

Beyond a tactical assessment, she doesn't actually know Saber all the well. She seems super calm and collected at basically all times, to the point that Marisa is starting to wonder if it's just that she's boring. She would be interested to get to know her better in non life-or-death scenarios. Mainly she just wants to know how safe it is to tease her.

Alice

Alice has a long history with Marisa, as we both know. If you asked who her best friend was, Marisa would probably pick Reimu, but only after several minutes of indecision between her and Alice.

She can tell that adjusting to life in Verens has been difficult for Alice, especially with the Sanae drama a while back. She seems like she's been doing better lately, but for a while Marisa was actually worried about her friend. She's glad to see that some of Alice's sass is coming back, and honestly a part of her hopes there's some kind of major incident on the horizon so that they can team up and be badass magicians together. Go bad cop/bad cop on some poor, unsuspecting villain.

There is one significant point of stress between them though. Something that will forever be a matter of contention. A roadbump in their happiness:

Marisa honestly doesn't really like dolls. She thinks their eyes are creepy at night.

And just to think, Marisa doesn't even know about the magical resistance thing.

Also Marisa, you are clearly just misinformed about dolls. Allow Alice to give you a lecture about their bright and exciting good qualities.

Also she doesn't like mushrooms. Because they're a fungus and taste weird. You weird mushroom girl.

Marisa has just accepted Roy's knowledge of The Rules as his own quirky way of being slightly insane, and does her best to filter it out. Beyond that, he seems like a skilled youkai exterminator, especially considering he has no magic or powers of his own. She's not sure she'd call Roy a friend, though. If she had a cell phone, he'd be under business contacts. He just seems to appear whenever something is going wrong and then disappear when it's dealt with.

She hopes he needs more magic items at some point though. Aside from being an interesting challenge to her skill as a magician, it was very lucrative. She was never very good at business, and that opened up new horizons for her.

How much more lucrative can you get than what they pulled in for whacking the hydra?!
not_good_not_wicked: (Bed head)

[personal profile] not_good_not_wicked 2015-01-22 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
I did say not good at business, right?
greatcleavage: (i disagree with your viewpoint)

[personal profile] greatcleavage 2015-01-22 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
Good enough to gouge Roy mightily.
not_good_not_wicked: (Pretty please?)

He still got that armor for WAY less than he would have been able to back home. Quit whining.

[personal profile] greatcleavage 2015-01-22 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, who knows what the exchange rate is?
not_good_not_wicked: (Totally ordinary)

[personal profile] not_good_not_wicked 2015-01-22 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
Judging by the pay rates on the job board for menial labor, 1 sylv roughly equals 1 dollar. A night at a hotel is roughly $70, OR, according to my handy PHB, 2gp for a luxury room. Ergo, 1gp = roughly 35 sylvs.

Highway fucking robbery, Roy. You should be ashamed of yourself.
greatcleavage: (i disagree with your viewpoint)

[personal profile] greatcleavage 2015-01-22 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, those aren't direct comparisons! After all, an untrained laborer's daily wage is only like a silver piece a day. By that logic, Verens has a much higher wage standard!
not_good_not_wicked: (You're gonna get wrinkles)

[personal profile] not_good_not_wicked 2015-01-22 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
But on the other hand, neither of these two are untrained laborers. They are highly skilled PC characters who risk life and limb for their job and should be paid accordingly.
greatcleavage: (as if anything could go right around her)

[personal profile] greatcleavage 2015-01-22 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
No one's arguing that, just that you can't make a direct economic comparison!
