[Ever the committed optimist, Mina had lifted the sign back up to try and draw in more customers. As soon as she heard him, however, the sign slipped from her fingers and clattered on the ground. She stared blankly at him for a few seconds, the only movement a slight twitch of her right eye.]

[Without thinking, she grabs him by the shoulders and shakes him.]

Are you telling me we're out here in these ridiculous costumes for no reason? As a prank? That we're not getting paid??

[She spins around and notices a few strangers not far away, leaning out from a back alley and pointing and snickering.]
