[Because while it CAN get crazy, it's... not supposed to be THIS erratic.] The observatory is supposed to have a giant crystal in it that indicates this world's emotional health, and I guess the link between it and the island was even closer than that. It got stolen a few days ago, so now everything's out of balance.
[It's especially hard on her with the plants being thrown so out of balance they're changing species entirely in some cases, and even more so during a thunderstorm. It feels like they're lashing out from an infected wound, and she feels it strongly.]
