C: C is for concentration, or lack thereof. [Asbel's not very good at this whole "telepathy" thing. Actually, it feels kind of intrusive, in a way. Suppose someone's sleeping, or taking a shower, or in the middle of something really important? But honestly, his biggest problem is concentration. It's hard to visualize having a nice chat in his head when he doesn't know for sure who all is listening. With his friends, at least, it's a lot easier somehow.]
[Still, he's sitting at a table in From the Hearth one afternoon, trying to get some practice in before his curry arrives. His eyes squint shut and fingers press into his temples.]
Hello? Sorry, but can anyone hear me?
[Whether it's effective or not, at some point Asbel lapses back into speaking out loud.] ...maybe I should have taken those meditation classes more seriously. You're not getting a word of this, are you?
F-1: F is for... one really fast pumpkin. Hold it right there! [There's a loud scuffling of leaves and legs as a huge orange pumpkin speeds past, Asbel in hot pursuit. If they can just manage to corner the thing, they should be able to end this quickly and painlessly! Or so Asbel hopes. With one hand already reaching for his sword, he glances over his shoulder with a determined nod.]
You catch up on its right, and I'll take the left! We'll surround it! There's nowhere else for it to go now.
[Yeah, they've got this! Well, maybe.]
Cat Ears: [Asbel's not familiar with Halloween, but from what he's heard, there sure is a lot to love about it! Candy, fancy costumes, pranks and scary stories... yeah, he can definitely see the appeal! It's not so different from the festivals back home, except, maybe a bit tackier. One morning as he's walking through the merchant's square, he happens to notice a display full of festive accessories: witches hats, tiny crowns, eyepatches and more. Out of curiosity, Asbel goes over to look, picking up a headband with two fluffy cat ears attached.]
Hey, this is kind of cute? I bet Sophie would like it, if she were here.
[Asbel's face falls almost immediately after he gets the words out. And anyone nearby, well, they might feel a light, cold mist tickling their faces. Is that rain?]
