It really is him... oh, man. Why did Mishima even acknowledge that he knew who he was? Now he obviously knows they're from the same world, and it'll be harder to play dumb when he'll almost inevitably need to. And he can't give a fake name or anything either, because there's no way Akechi wouldn't find out it was fake, and then it would just be obvious that he had something to hide. Ugh!

"Y-yeah. I'm Yuuki Mi--"

He stops when that girl suddenly grabs onto his pants, and there's a split second where he panics thinking it's that fire he was smelling, because obviously catching on fire would feel just like having your clothing pulled on. (Look, his brain just automatically attributed the concerning physical sensation to the concerning external situation that was already on his mind; he's not stupid!)

Honestly, bless this girl for getting him out of that introduction, or at least delaying it.

"Oh, uh. Sure, I guess...?"

He doesn't really... know how this works, because he never interacts with kids like this, but he figures squatting down on the ground to let her climb on herself probably makes the most sense, so that's what he does.

Hm, those sure are some singed blades of grass around the spot where Akechi was standing a moment ago before he went to separate the two fighting kids.

Speaking of which, yikes. Mishima definitely doesn't like Akechi, but he can't help feeling at least a little bad (and, okay, a little good) watching that scene. After rising back up onto his feet with the girl on his shoulders, he gently holds onto her legs to keep her from falling as he takes a few anxious steps in the direction of Akechi and the other kids.

"Hey, come on, that's not nice."
