[A] [One thing that Six has come to realize is that this place is calm. Living for so long in the shadows, having to avoid all manner of dangers and monsters, it was almost jarring to see how peaceful things were in this city. Six had spent the first few days expecting some sort of horrible catastrophe to occur, but other than the occasional emotional outburst, nothing horrible had happened yet. Six didn't want to get her hopes up too high, but it was nice to not be on edge expecting something to reach out and gobble you up all the time.]
[But this place still had its dangers. Being just under a foot tall meant she had to face all sorts of hazards that others didn't have to worry about. That day, she had decided to go for a walk when a horse became spooked by something and took off, the cart clattering noisily as it charged through the streets. People screamed and ran to the sides, street-side vendor carts were knocked into, and a brief chaos gripped the street.]
[Amidst the chaos, a very small, very afraid young girl was just trying to get out of the way. The colour around her has drained significantly, and wherever she runs she leaves behind small black footprints of splotchy ichor as she scrambled to avoid being trampled by the giants around her.]
[E-3] [Weirdly enough, the dark, maze-like ruins were more like what she was used to than the city was. The Maw itself was like a maze, and stepping into the dark tunnels vaguely reminded her of dark vents and creaking hallways. She pulls out her lighter automatically and flicks it on, the small light illuminating the darkness around her.]
[It was almost scary how easy it was to drop back into survival mode. Only this time, she's not alone. Turning around, she looks up at her partner, holding her lighter up so she could see them better.]
