When you get saddled with raising a toddler for five years, there are certain things you get good at. One of those things is noticing when a kid is getting into or onto something they shouldn't be...but only at the last moment. Sol hears the sound of a limb cracking above him and leaps into action...but only at the last moment.
When he sees the figure fall into his line of vision, he reaches out and latches into the back of the girl's tunic to stop her fall. He was expecting a snot nosed boy, but...
Aren't you a little old to be playing games in trees, kid?
He isn't going to put her down just yet. She can dangle there. The girl obviously needs a talking-to.
