bodhi rook / rogue one: a war in our stars story

c

[ He doesn't like it, the constant chatter - other voices in his head. They don't belong there, his own thoughts take up enough room (usually a constant murmur, not very discernible), and Bodhi can't help recalling the last time he wasn't alone in his own head. Bor Gullet, in the caves - tentacles slithering out of the darkness and into his memories.

It's not the same, and he knows it but it doesn't make it any easier or any more welcome.

The voice is quick, quiet - muttering something before he asks again, more clearly: ]

How do I turn it off?

What? No, no I'm not interested. Thank you, no - [ The man is all smiles as he ignores the pilot's dismissals to grab his hand and slip something over his fingers before giving him a pat on the shoulder and moving onto the next unfortunate soul.

Bodhi sighs. Whatever it is, it doesn't seem to want to come off. And try to yank it off, he does. And like it has a mind of it's own, Bodhi is moving through the crowd (and he can't seem to stop) until he's standing right beside someone.

What? He holds up his hand. ]

Sorry. Um. Could you maybe give me a hand? It's stuck, or something.

[ Sewers. It had to be sewers that opened up and swallowed him, dropping him into the water. Bodhi comes up, sputtering. After that it's trying to find his way out, navigating the tunnels that seem to stretch - and he has to admit that he's completely lost. ]

It had to be a sewer.

[ Lost, and as he stares down at the murky water he swears that something below the surface stares back up at him. He scrambles, but the feeling of eyes on him, boring into him never leaves him alone after that, and he feels even more lost than before. Yet the only sound is the water splashing around his feet and his harsh breathing in his ears.

He'd been brought here, only to die in a sewer. Assuming that this is all real. Maybe he's still back in the ship with that grenade, waiting for it to detonate. Maybe. When he hears the splashing footsteps, Bodhi feels frozen to the spot. It's not like he can make a break for it without being noticed at this point. ]

C-come out! If you're there, and I'm not just hearing things. [ and more quietly: ] Which is entirely possible...

[ ooc: wildcard me! ]
