Oh, Prinnies? Yes. They very much are demons, but... they're not a demon quite like me. Prinnies are made of the souls of sinful humans that have committed crimes or did terrible things while alive... and they're made to atone for their sins through hard work, labor, and suffering!
As a Prinny Instructor, it is my job to prepare those souls for that endeavor so that their eventually purified souls may reincarnate. Once their training is complete, they're sent off to the far corners of the Netherworld to work.
...Suffice it to say, with the Human World how it is back home, that makes me a very busy demon.
