H.P. Lovecraft

1) Notable physical features: Oh, boy, WHERE DO WE BEGIN. He looks practically skeletal, like he hasn't eaten in five days - he's supposed to look around his late twenties, but the bags under his eyes and prominent cheekbones make him look older than he is. He also has long curly black hair that could make Rapunzel jealous (it is almost to his knees). On top of all of that, his outfit is kooky - he wears a nice collared shirt, pants, and tie, but on top of that is a large torn black coat that looks like it had the bottom of it through a shredder.

Also, tentacles. His "ability" basically allows him to change parts of himself into tentacles, so he can have those coming out of his sleeves instead of hands sometimes. Overall, he stands out like an eldritch sore thumb.

2) Age: 28...except not really. He's probably as old as dirt.

3) What are some of their most common emotional effects?: Lovecraft doesn't feel much besides constantly exhausted and miserable all the time - you'll get some dark clouds surrounding him sometimes like he's some kind of weird Junji Ito Eeyore. The only thing that gets him somewhat perked up are sweets and cats, but overall, he's just not that emotional.

4) Where they live, and what their home is like: Lovecraft doesn't really live anywhere, but he spends a lot of time by himself in a secret grungy alley room that Lalli found, near the lake (because he likes the water), or in the park. He can also be found hanging around every single bakery and ice cream store in town, much to the chagrin of the owners.

5) What they do during an average day in Verens: Sleep. Eat sweets. Sleep some more. Dwell on the infinite darkness of mankind and the universe for a few hours. Read, sometimes. Count every single wood grain on the side of every building in Verens. Try to pet every cat in Verens. Sleep for five days. Rinse, repeat.

6) Their general sense of fashion: HE LITERALLY WEARS THE SAME THING EVERY SINGLE DAY. What are clothes?? What is changing them?? What is a wardrobe??? HE SURE DOESN'T KNOW.

7) Hobbies: Eating and sleeping are hobbies, right? Also petting cats? He's pretty sure he's awesome at petting cats.

8) Jobs: No jobs, though he occasionally takes on stuff from the taskboard.

9) Do they have a weapon? If so, do they carry it at all times or just under certain circumstances?: The man IS his own weapon. Do you want to know what his true form is? It's this. He's giant Cthulhu on steroids. He doesn't need your dinky little guns or knives.

10) How long have they been in Empatheias? Around three months or so. Lovecraft doesn't really HATE the place, since being here means he doesn't have to do the work his contract has said he should be doing (aka pretty much killing everyone and everything his boss hates). But at the same time, he just wants to go home to the sea and sleep for eternity. The lake is good and all, but it isn't the same. :( Lovecraft doesn't really like to waste any effort in getting involved with anything, and could care less about the fate of the people around him. He's terrible like that.

11) Their favorite areas/stores/hang-out locations?: Every single bakery and ice cream place probably has a sign with his picture on it saying KEEP OUT. Yeah. He's that bad when it comes to sweets. Also random buildings where he can count glass cracks/grains/brick numbers/rice grains/what have you. He's like a weird kind of vampire and likes counting.

12) Is the way they act in person different from the way they act over the amulets?: He probably is a little more articulate on the amulets, but honestly, no matter how you talk with him, he comes off as tired, anxious, and incredibly passive. He doesn't use the amulets too much, but he's not opposed to them. He uses voice more often than not.

13) Is Empatheias a technological upgrade, or downgrade for them? Have they adapted to these changes well?: ...Neither? He's used to technology changing a lot since he's pretty much an eternal god-like being, so he doesn't really make a lot of fuss about it.

14) Do they have any special talents? If so, what are they?: Being really creepy, making you scream and cry with fear, and having infinite knowledge of some really messed up stuff and the nature of the ocean. Yeah. He...doesn't have a whole lot of talents, here.

15) Do you have any goals for your character? Are there any hobbies you want them to discover or abilities you want them to learn?: I'm simple to please! I really just like playing him being his weird self, and I really don't expect him to change much in terms of personality. I like just having him learn about new human experiences, making friends who don't mind the whole Cthulhu thing, being someone's nightmare, being someone's tool (and maybe making him get into a contract with someone, that would be interesting to play out)! Overall, anything and everything, come at me.

16) Anything else you want to note?: squid man, squid man, does whatever a squid man does
