They do collect emotions in physical form... Do you think it's possible the crystals just absorb ambient thoughts like that? It would make sense... If they're random, subconscious thoughts, they wouldn't exactly be easily represented with words or speech. They'd be more like... Primal urges... That sort of thing, you know?
