[That makes him laugh, and some of the cracks in the fence heal up. Certainly not all, but some. He debates telling Lafayette about how Alexander too is dead, but... decides to leave that up to Hamilton himself. After all, John doesn't know any details about it, other than he deloped in a duel with one of their friends.

But there's no way it was Lafayette. John's sure of that. He wouldn't, there's nothing he can think of that could change so drastically in 20 years that Lafayette would do something like that. Plus, well, he's here now instead of back home growing old to shoot people. He's here.
