TEST DRIVE MEME: SEPTEMBER
Welcome to
![[community profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/community.png)
- Date reminders. Reserves open Monday, August 25th and Applications open Monday, September 1st.
- Emotions are key! Empatheias' premise focuses on how anyone's emotions can affect their environment, be it big or small. While not every emotion will cause a reaction, significant ones definitely will. How much effect a character will have will ultimately be up to you, the player. Also, while we're giving a lot of leeway for the test drive, keep in mind that there will be some limits in the actual game.
- Everyone has an amulet. All characters have a unique amulet that is specialized for them. It will contain all of their emotion drops and it serves as the network device. Remember, communication is telepathic. Otherwise, it works basically the same.
- Assume the character is already in the game. Because "OMG WHERE AM I IS THIS REAL LIFE" threads aren't going to be very helpful in this test drive! Plus those are going to happen in-game, anyway. So to make things easier, just assume that they've been around at least a week or so. Still learning the ropes, but not a complete "first day" experience.
- First or third person allowed. Your threads can be in either first or third, but we'd advise being flexible about it. Remember, these threads can also be used in your application for samples!
Now with that out of the way, here are some prompts you guys can work from!
• Prompt A: Create any scenario that could cause your character to display some kind of emotion, be it big or small, and write out how it changes the immediate area. Are there literal sparkles everywhere because they're so happy? Or is the ground starting to twist and warp due to their anger or frustration? Things exploding? Rain clouds? Since this is a test drive, don't worry about any limitations on effects—just write whatever comes to mind! OR write a prompt where they're the ones being affected by someone else's emotion.
• Prompt B: Refer to the Task Board and choose a task your character may be interested in taking up. For this prompt, you could have your character ask for help, already be in the middle of the job, or react to it in some way. Perhaps they were an unfortunate victim or want to create a job countering an existing one. You could even have a prompt making a job request.
• Prompt C: How about giving the amulets a go? Start a telepathic conversation and see how it works. Remember, the amulets are sending out the owner's thoughts so might want to be careful about how the stream of consciousness goes…
• Prompt D: How good is your character using an elemental core? They're magic-like rocks that have one of the three following elements: fire, air, and water. On their own they're not too bad, but they are quite sensitive to emotions. Be careful or that little handwarmer could suddenly create a small blazing inferno!
• Prompt E: Steampunk technology is a lot more advanced than basic medieval technology, but still inferior to modern day devices. No electricity, no cars—just this strange magitech, steam, and clockwork gear systems. How "tech savvy" is your character now?
• Prompt F: Make your own! It can even involve cake and rain.

For your threads, put the Character Name and the Canon in the subject line to help readily identify them. You're also welcome to use more than one prompt for respondents to choose from. If you have any questions or want to brush up on the game information, refer to the Game Information entry. Otherwise, tag around and have fun!
Fujieda Yoshino | Digimon Savers
For the life of her, Yoshino Fujieda had no idea why she'd signed up for this. Her background was in investigative work, after all. She wasn't exactly a licensed animal care expert.
And yet, for some reason, she'd agreed to respond to the request to walk a particular city resident's large, slobbery, unruly dogs.
"Heel!" she cried as she was futilely drug behind said irascible canines. The young woman was absolutely, completely overwhelmed, and not even her Digimon partner, Lalamon, could do much to help her, wafting after Yoshino and the dogs frantically just to keep up.
"C-could someone help me here?!" Yoshino cried out, as she tried to dig her heels into the ground. Mentally, she tried to summon her Digi-Soul, but she wasn't like Masaru... the one time she'd been able to use it to enhance her own strength had been spur of the moment, and it wasn't like she could just do it whenever she felt like it...
no subject
"Lemme get this straight, Yoshino - you can handle some musclebound Russian asshole that turns into a giant dinosaur, but get undone by a freaking' mutt?"
no subject
"It was Lalamon who took him on personally, and he was a giant dinosaur at the time!" she shouted. "I never saw YOU fighting him, Masaru Daimon!"
Lalamon just floated up and chimed merrily, "Yoshino, you did it!"
But for now, it fell on deaf ears.
no subject
"Uh, Bro, this doesn't seem like such a good-"
Like Lalamon's, Agumon's words go unheeded and Masaru just presses on. "That's just 'cause I was too busy beatin' the crap outta Kouki!" he proclaims, deftly avoiding the fact he got led into a situation where ShineGreymon couldn't even use his attacks without obliterating the city. "All I'm sayin' is I'd think this dog can't be any worse!"
no subject
"You think you could do better than me, then?" she said, tugging on the leashes as she put her hand on her hip. "My week's pay says you can't."
no subject
Masaru Daimon: a bastion of modesty.
"Some mangy dog ain't about to beat me. You sure you wanna give your money away like that?"
no subject
She shook her head. "But first of all? It's five dogs," she said, motioning to the beasts. "And second of all... I didn't use Digi-Soul, so neither can you. And lastly... we'll see who has to put up once all's said and done."
And with that, she offered the leashes to him. The hounds seemed to be waiting, to see if the transition would be made or not.
no subject
"You're on!" he says, without even a moment's hesitation. Or thought. Agumon quietly places a claw over his face.
Does Masaru even know how to shut his Digi-Soul off? Why, hell no. But something as simple as that isn't going to stop him, right?
He reaches over and snatches the leashes up. "This'll be a piece of cake!"
no subject
No sooner was the young woman clear than did the dogs suddenly surge forward with all their might. Whether it would be enough to drag the world's number one street fighter remained to be seen, but they certainly made a strong effort.
no subject
"What the hell?!"
no subject
"What's the matter?" she cried, following along at a brisk pace. "Can the guy who broke Yggdrasil's face not handle a few measley dogs?"
Lalamon followed after her, frowning. "Yoshino... this is mean..."
